After a 2-month long acceleration program under the patronage of some of the best mentors from Albania, Region and Europe, Albanian startup accelerator Uplift Albania will announce today its first winners.

Organized by ICTSmedia and SOVVA with SlovakAid support, Uplift Albania became the first acceleration in Albania founded for young entrepreneurs from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Region.

On Monday 20 January starting from 17:30 until 20:45 at “Jordan Misja” Artistic Lyceum, “Tonin Harapi” Venue, during the final moment of “Demo-Day” the winners from 8 startups part of acceleration program Plexusvr, Ipervox, Amargi, iAvokat,, Addo Group and Game On will be announced.

Tirana Mayor Mr. Erion Veliaj, Minister of State for Protection of Entrepreneurship Mr. Eduard Shalsi, Slovak Ambassador in Tirana Mr. Peter Spisiak; representatives from partners and supporters of Uplift Albania: CEO of Vodafone Albania Mr. Achilleas Kanaris, CEO of CIVITTA Mr. Peter Kolesar, CEO of Credins Bank Maltin Korkuti; and angel investors Mr. Peter Kolesar, Boris Zeleny, Marin Gjonaj, Eva Simekova, Eli Zhabevska Muratovska and Stephen Kelly will participate this event.

Demo-Day” is the moment when Uplift Albania startups will evaluate the progress they achieved during acceleration program under the spotlight of Uplift Albania media, partners and supporters aiming to grab mostly the attention of angel investors.

It is considered as the most important day of 2-month acceleration program where each startup will get the chance to meet investors during Investor Connect session for 7 straight minutes in “Speed Dating” format.

Until this day several technical workshops and other meetings have taken place aiming to identify challenges that startups faced and transforming them into success stories.

Topics like business evaluation, product marketing, public speech, consumer and value recognition. legal and regulatory problems, intellectual property and brand importance, were some of the workshop designed to help startups create a product loved by the market.

At Uplift Albania more than 50 startups from 6 regional countries and 9 difference industries applied. 20 of them were selected for Boot-Camp Selection and only 10 made it to the 6-week acceleration program.

Uplift accelerator came to Albania thanks to close cooperation of ICTSmedia publishing house and organizers of the biggest Central Europe accelerator Uplift.

By joining Uplift Albania, startups had the opportunity to meet 50+ industry experts, 21 mentors, and opportunity to raise up to 50,000 euro of potential investments through partner network and a prize of 3,000 euro for the best startup to be announced on “Demo-Day.”
