Uplift Western Balkans startup accelerator officially launched the 4-month acceleration program with 12 startups from Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo embarking on this journey.
Startups from Western Balkans had to apply until September 24 to join the third edition of Uplift. With an expanded format, Uplift Western Balkans came into its third year with a close cooperation between SOVVA, ICTSmedia, VentureUP, ICAN and SlovakAid financial support.
During October, three parallel bootcamps took place in Tirana, Prishtina and Gostivar which is known as the selection process of startup accelerator.
On October 22 the first workshop came. “Roadmap to Uplift” began with an introduction to Uplift program details and important information each one of the founders should be aware off.
Together with mentors Igor Madzov, Sara Usinger, Ariol Sollaku, Dairida Metalia, Emel Visha, Blendina Cara and Denis Mani, startups went through assessment with the purpose of defining the expert mentoring, key goals and deliverable metrics for their startup.
Perfect pitching was the workshop that followed on October 29 with Jules Banning. During this workshop startups lean how to quickly get the potential investor’s attention, let them know what you have and what you are offering.
November 5 was the third round of workshops at Uplift this time with special invites such as Manuel Koelman from Germany and Tal Catran from Israel. Koelman is co-founder of PIRATE Global, a serial entrepreneur and angel investor.
Participating in previous editions of Uplift, Tal Catran this time traveled to Tirana. He is a board member of several companies and technology startups mainly in cyber security, IT, AdTech, retail, etc.
During the workshops on November 5, the startups learned about the identifying target audience while the meeting held in the form of a conversation with Catran was broadcast live on social media platforms with wide participation.
Meetings and workshop of Uplift Western Balkans will continue on November 12 with a special event “Breakfast with the Founders” at Coolab Tirana. This event will bring together startup founders and Uplift alumni.
Uplift Western Balkans acceleration program will meet its deadline on January 17 2022 at Demo Day when the winners of big prizes 5-10 thousand euros will be announced. By joining Uplift Western Balkans startup have to potential to raise investments up to 50 thousand euros, meet with investors, experts and mentors from Western Balkans and Europe.
During the acceleration program startup learn about key business area such as modeling, product development, business strategies, marketing strategies, raising investment, management of human and financial resources and legal aspects of doing business in Europe.
