In a manifestation similar to the day when the startups of the second edition of Uplift Albania will pitch in front of a jury, a panel of investors and a broad audience from innovation and startup ecosystem in Albania and the region, a Mini Demo Afternoon took place on Thursday.

With the participation of Uplift Albania startups such as, FoodFilled, Neuroyouth, Wellness+, Hermex, Maya, iNegotio, AlbBnb, Swipin, Udhë, Crossplag, Nutriprep but also mentors and partners, the virtual meeting served as a vanguard of Demo-Day that will take place on January 29.

11 presentations, 8 mentors and three winners of Mini Demo Afternoon, each startup pitched for 3 minutes followed by a 5 minutes Q&A session from mentors and partners.

The purpose of this meeting was not simply pointing out the best pitches but also serve as a moment of reflection and feedback for each of the participating startup.

Describing as different event by implementation compared to last year due to Covid-19 pandemic, co-founder of ICTSmedia, ICT Awards and Uplift Albania Mr. Kushtrim Shala emphasized the commitment shown by the participating startups.

Three startups with the best presentations were awarded with symbolic gifts from Uplift Albania partners, Huawei and Vigan Group.

On of the main partners of the first regional accelerator in Albania, Huawei described Uplift Albania as an initiative that promotes talent in ICT.

Mini Demo Afternoon comes before the next meeting Progress Pitch which will be last regarding the acceleration program of Uplift Albania and paving the way for Demo Day on January 29.

Crossplag, Udhë and Wellness+ were awarded as the best pitches during Mini Demo Afternoon. Crossplag offers text similarity detection in both written and target languages; Udhë is a carpooling platform that matches drivers and passengers who have the same destination and Wellness+ Wellness+ provides an ecosystem for gyms and fitness clubs to manage their business workflow.

The second batch of Uplift Albania entered the third month of acceleration program kickstarted on October 5. 12 startups successfully managed to overcome Selection Bootcamp challenge and rewarded with 4-month long acceleration program which will help them increase their chances of success by provided with the necessary expertise and best practices.
