One of the best accelerators in Slovakia and Central Europe Uplift, brought to Albania thanks to a broad partnership of ICTSmedia, closed the applications on Sunday paving the way for the next phase of startup evaluation.

Uplift Albania received more than 50 application from 6 countries and 9 different industries during the application phase.

Uplift is a prominent accelerator in Slovakia and Central Europe organized to support and develop startup ecosystem in Slovakia.

All startups who have applied at Uplift Albania until 3 November 2019 23:59 will continue to the next phase of Selection Boot-camp.

This meeting will take place on Saturday, 9 November, and will be finalized with the winner of Uplift Albania acceleration program.

During the boot-camp, a short-list of pre-selected startups will pitch their ideas and discuss their projects with the Uplift mentors, investors and partners.

At the end of the day the mentors will announce the selected Uplift participants for the 2019 batch.

Selection Boot-camp Agenda

8.30 – 8.50 Arrival and coffee

8.50 – 9.00 Introduction/ Rules of the Boot-camp.

9.00 – 9.30 Welcome remarks. Main partners will deliver a remark.

9:30 – 10:00 Elevator pitch. Every startup team has 1 minute to present themselves in front of the group. No power-point.

10.00 – 12.30 Workshop on Lean Canvas with the focus on problem validation         startups will have to validate the problem and solution by talking to potential customers.  At the end of the workshop, all startup will present their Lean Canvas to the whole group.

Mentors can give feedback and comment.

12.30 – 13.30 Lunch

13.30 – 15.30 1:1 mentoring. Startups can sign up for mentors. 20-30 min slots.

15.30 – 16.30 Final pitching. 3 min pitch + 2 min Q/A

16.30 – 17.30  Selection of best startups for the Uplift Albania Accelerator

Closing Remarks, Joint picture, Networking beers

Two days after the boot-camp, the acceleration program will start officially for winning startups on 11 November.

On 18 January 2020 startups will go through a progress evaluation and on 20 January come the Demo Day.

Startups will gain access with 50+ industry experts and successful entrepreneurs in Europe and also in the Balkans during the Demo Uplift Day.

Uplift does not invest in companies directly. However, if you participate in Uplift, you have a chance to secure 50,000 EUR investment through our investment partners. There is also a 3,000 EUR cash prize for the best team.

More than 21 mentors and investors, Peter Kolesar, Jaroslav Luptak, Michal Laco, Eva Simekova, Mary MacPherson, Martin Kujan, Tomas Penxa, Andrej Petrus, Jules Banning, Igor Madzov, Marek Lavcak, Milan Steskal, Ladislav Kossar, Shkelzen Marku, Patrik Fetahaj, Rafaela Rica, Diana Xhumari, Egzon Halili, Erëmal Bajrami, Arjodita Mustali, and Marin Gjonaj will assist and invest in startups that will be joining Uplift Albania.

The winner will receive support in for of 4-month complex acceleration program with workshops, networking sessions, dedicated training and 1-on-1 mentoring.
